The Georgetown Business Improvement District invites you to "Come Out And Play" in Georgetown on Thursday, June 21st as the neighborhood transforms into an outdoor playground for “The Georgetown Dash” an exciting scavenger hunt-style event. From biking along the Capital Crescent Trail to paddling on the Potomac, Georgetown has always been a place people come to get fit. The neighborhood's natural landscape is complimented by over 20 businesses dedicated to health and fitness including yoga studios, gyms, and athletic retailers, making it the perfect active destination. Shopping isn't the only cardio you can get here, and The Georgetown Dash will have you working up a sweat and exploring the neighborhood- all while benefiting Girls on the Run DC (GOTR DC). 

Teams of four people will run, hunt for clues and complete fun challenges taking them throughout Georgetown during the hour-long race which will conclude with a finish line party at Mr. Smith’s for all participants. The race must be completed entirely on foot- no bikes, cars, public transportation, skateboards, rollerblades, etc. allowed. 

Details:

• Check-in at City Sports starting at 6pm to get your race shirts, fuel up with refreshments, enjoy a live DJ and grab your race bags, filled with free gifts and discounts from Georgetown stores.
• Race will start at 7pm at City Sports and conclude at 8pm at Mr. Smith's.
• Teams will collect “stars” at each location, and the team that gets the most stars in the least amount of time, will win a grand prize package valued at over $2,000 including a gym membership, two weeks of group training, and gift cards to Georgetown stores including The North Face, Sports Zone, and Athleta.
• A prize will also be given to best team costume, so get creative!
  

Stick around for the finish line-party at Mr. Smith’s on M Street where winners will be announced and prize packages will be distributed. From 8 to 9 pm, guests can enjoy $3.25 bottles of their “Beer of the Month”, $3 Stella Artois bottles, $3 wings & $3 nachos. Registration is $25 per person, $100 a team. Teams must be registered online by Tuesday, June 19.
